Word psychic?

Has anyone ever had words come into their mind and use them without thinking about what the definition was?  It happened to me on Mr. Dilger's blog with the word "modality."

I wasn't sure what it meant...it just sounded right in the sentence and I used it. I had to look up the word, crossing my fingers, hoping not to look stupid.
