needy animals

@ 06:37 PM (18 months, 27 days ago)
I love my cat so much, but sometimes I think he got himself too attached to me. It's funny, when he sees me carry something iknow he thinks it is for him. I love him so much, but what will he do when I'm gone and someone else is in here? It's hilarious! He's my fluffy cat though, I'll claim him till I leave. I may or may not end up getting another cat when I settle down in Quincy. Might not, tired of his hair everywhere, and the litter is atrocious! But he's such a personality, that I know I'll miss him terribly! I let him outside onto the porch, and told him to holler when he wanted back in, but then I went and turned the radio on, but I opened the door and he was right there, I think he used the large yard-sized litterbox! That's justfine with me!

felt like sharing with the world

I just wanted to say hello to my faithful readers. I only know one of you, riff, but there are possibly other people who just lork nearby, and that is fine too, as Itend to do that. I need to find a coffee group for when I go back to Quincy, IL so I'm thinking of asking friends here how they went about it. I worked in a restaurant setting, so I'm going to be acquainted with the people I have served in some capacity, but I wnat to meet people like the friends I have made here in Macomb. I want to meet people in Quincy who are strange folk interested in The Civil war, like my friends, the Bath's. I want to know some folk who build there own.....you fill in the blank....people that are interested in things that maybe I don't have the timeor inclination to be interested in. I absolutely love just sitting nearby and listeningto these friends of mine talk out problems and solutions to things. Once this guy, who is 90 years old, btw sat and drew out plans for a water treatment facility that could run on like75 volts, something so small. It was very interesting. This guy was an engineer with the physical plant at WIU and he did things for other factories in the area. He spent something like six hours recording tape about people and things he remembers about the Macomb, I area form the twenties!!! This guy is a walking genius at 90 years old! I love the guy. If I were 90, I'd be hookin up!!! So if anyone has any ideas on ow to find people like this in Quincy, and Iknow they exist, send me a comment. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, and hope you all were ok today.

Earthquake in Illinois

@ 03:23 AM (18 months, 27 days ago)
I woke up at about four something and felt my bedshaking. I thought it was my cat scratching himself or bathing, but it lstedquitesome time, and my cat wasn't in the room. I decided that was sort of strange, my heart wasdefinitely beating pretty good, so I got dresssed and went to the store for a cup of coffee, and that's when I saw on our local news that a 5.4 Earthquake hit this morning, centered around New Salem, IL. It is repoerted to have been felt all the way up by chicago and into Indiana, Ohio and Iowa. What a strange thing to encounter firstthing in the morning. This was my first experience with an earthquake. It will be interesting to see the reports as they come in fromm the epicenter.

Idon'tknow what to type

@ 06:12 PM (18 months, 29 days ago)
I'm pretty tired right now. I have been up since quarter till seven this morning, which is late by my normal standards. I'm still tired. Watcheda great movie based off of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, called Scotland, PA. This movie  was awesome, and like our prof said, has a great soundtrak....lots of seventies rock. It's based in the seventies, has Andy Dick and Christopher Walken in it. It was really funny. Sorry I haven't updated asoften as I'd like, there wouldn't be anything to talk about anyhow. Not much goes on in a town of 10,000. Have a good one!

When the human's away...

@ 02:44 AM (19 months, 2 days ago)
The CATS will play? Well, that was the scene when I got home from making donuts this morning! There was my cat, on the porch outside, and this other black cat I have neverseen before was sitting on the back of mycouch lookng out at me. What's worse, is that my catis so old and decrepitthat I tried to direct hs attention in the black cat's direction,to no AVAIL! My catnever even noticed him. This tells me heis getting pretty old.  It was only moderately amusing. I'm running a regular cathouse here! It got into my cat'sfoodaswell, haditself a regular buffet on ourexpense.Heck, might have even peed in  the litterbox!

a bit windy!

@ 10:52 AM (19 months, 4 days ago)

We have been having some really bad weather here, and I expect others reading this blog have hd their fair share. The wind is something else this afternoon, and there is some rain. When I left the house around quarter to six it was pretty nice out, but it turned cold rather quickly. The wind is bad enough that I just felt my trailer shudder. It didn't move per se, but it shuddered a bitwhich was odd. I don't think it will get worse than that here. The air has turned much colder though, so it looks like I might be taking a taxi to work tonight. Not quite sure how that will work out. We'll see  that's for sure. Hy Vee grocery store was without power yesterday because a light pole came down because of the wind. It didn't feel too bad out yesterday as far as wind was concerned. These last few days have been quitenasty. Not supposed to improve much either. I want to crawl under the covers and not come out, if it weren't for classes!

Thankful for a little rebellious streak!

@ 12:34 AM (19 months, 6 days ago)
As I read the many different stories that are coming out of this Texas crappy church story, I'm more and morethankful that I'm a free thinker, and that I'm a bit rebellious. There is no way that I'mgoing to letsome douche of a man tell me I'll go to hell for not doing his bidding! SCREW HIM! whoever he might be, I'd rather risk the fires of Hell than get caught up in some stupid sex-show of a church like whatwe are seeing unfold in Texas! HOW DESPICABLE!!! Anyone who has to resort to ritual abuse and hollerin about hell from the platform, obviously has to use his mouth to make up for his lacking in the manhood department!

Stress winds down a bit

@ 01:27 PM (19 months, 13 days ago)

I just finished working on a Nonfiction Manuscript for Creative Writing class. It felt really good to be able to not only work on that, but also finish a Shakespeare essay that was due for today. Tomorrow, I getto have breakfastwith my coffee klatch and get some reading caught up. I've been avoiding buying microsoft office. I might go see my neighbor that I gave my old copy to and aske her if I can borrow it for a bit. I really need to get with the times or something. I've got Vista on my laptop, so that's not the issue.
