HI MOM!!! *pretend you see a waving smiley here!*

@ 12:08 AM (11 months, 20 days ago)

I talked to my mom on the phone last night. She had mentioned why she didn't take my brother's address, and really wanted to express to me why. It was wierd, until she told me she reads my blog. I was surprised, then thought, hey silly! BLOG MORE!! I'm trying to get ready to graduate, didn'tmake the plans to walk, so it looks like I won't be walking, which is fine. Too cold to be getting ouut for that anyway. I'm going to try to head back home for a bit of relaxation and Christmasesque activities before heading back into Full time work. I wrote a note to my boss letting them know I'd be out of school in december, and that I was looking for full time work, something with benefits, and since we needed someone stocking shelves, that I'd be willing to do it. The other donut fryer is not making the donuts the way we would like, and we really don't think he likes it anyhow. HE is going to stock shelves at night and I will be making donuts full time. I told them I could commit to a couple years and after that I'm not sure.

We have been having a lot of these big fifty five dozen donut orders. I think in the last sixmonths we have had four orders like that. It is something else let me tell you! Doing that won't be so bad once I go full time, as it is now I only make them two nights per week, and that really is tiring when I'm not in the physical groove to be doing them in such huge quantities. I do notice that my arms are gettign stronger. What has been a struggle to move, now isn't quite so bad. I have begun taking vitamins as well, trying to keep myself from falling apart as I get older. I'm only 31, but I still notice there are things I'm not as physically adept to do. Mom was in the army at this age, so she's probably going to tell me I need to exercisemore. I figure I get enough exercise walking to and from work and walking around that bakery. The only problem is the exercise I get in the bakery is cancelled out by the number of baked goods I consume! p)

In other news....my hair is growing!  I got some hair skin body nails vitamins from the Dollar Tree not long ago, well, probably six months ago and this was in a time that I was very discouraged about my hair. Other women in the church have beautiful long hair and I have wanted it since I have begun my walk with the Lord, so I started on those vitamins and did initially see results! I couldn't believe it, so now when I look in the mirror I  can really see that my hair is growing for the first time in several years. I also started using Pantene Pro-Lengths. That is really good shampoo! I use about the size of a dime in the palm of my hand and I still have over half a bottle of it. I bought this shampoo in the very beginning of the semester when I was loaded with financial aid money. I try to wash my hair every other day now. I used to go less often than that, but I'm comfortable with every other day. I don't want to dry it out. Winter is hard on my skin anyway. My hands are bone dry this morning. I guess it is morning for me. I woke up to the smell of chicken in the crockpot, and man is it smelling wonderful.

I'm making chicken and rice soup to take to a church dinner today. I made this same soup about a month ago and it was a real hit with the parishoners, so they requested it  again. I'm veryproud to make it for the church. I'm proud to put any food out for the church, as I've never done it before. It was always the case where I was bringing chips and soda. I didn't have much confidence in myself that I could produce anything but what I would consume. Of course I'm going to eat my own cooking, so now I know that other people will like it too, and not just be sympathetic with my effort. Also, I have more skill in the kitchen, compared to when I was in my twenties.

"and now for something completely diffrent!"

I bought some hand warmers a few months back, this is when I was thinking toward visiting my mom in Texas. I finally dug one out to see how it works under a blanket. WOW!!! I was snug under those covers, and finally had to shovethem down near my feet, as they were little icecubes! I will eventually be moving my little space heaterinto the bedroom, once I get this piece of fabric hung in the bedroom door. That will allow me to turn the thermostat down at night, and not risk freezing my butt off immediately when I wake up, just when I leave the bedroom. Might also hang it beyond my bedroom and go past my bathroom door and see if this little heater will keep that whole back area warm enough to hop in the shower. That would make my mornings much easier, and I wouldn't have to heat the whole house, just the back area. I have some insulation around my water pipes now, so I'm not in danger of having them freeze the way they did the last two winters. It  has really gotten cold. I look for it to get even colder too! Mom said it got down to about 45 degrees. That's cold for them!

  1. So you say that taking vitamins helped you? I am glad to hear about this, I am feeling weakened myself and I am guessing I lack my spring vitamins. I should pay a visit to a vitamins shop , I need to keep myself together.
