We Made It!!!

@ 08:15 PM (10 months, 22 days ago)

We are officially into 2009!!! Woohoo! Happy late New Year to everyone! Not much going on around here. I'm giving up fake sugar in favor of regular. Eventually I'll be switching to raw sugar as I know it is better for you. Finances are an issue at the moment. I'm getting ready at some point to work full time. We are waiting on the current donut fryer to take his math test. If he doesn't pass the test, I'll be takign that as a sign from God that He has better plans for me. I'm not clinging to anything at all. I love living in the palm of His hand. It is a peaceful place to be. I'm not struggling in my mind over anything. I''m not wondering where to go or what to do. I just live such that I rely on His timing and His judgement. I want Him to move me as He wishes and I want to be useful in His kingdom. Whatever that is, is what I'll be doing. It's going to be interesting to see what happens next.

I can't wait until I get enough nerve together to find an apple preserves recipe! I  made an apple dessert for church which turned out wonderful! I got a new crockpot from my Ex- SIL and also a crockpot cookbook. I'm excited to use it for church dinners etc. I really liked making the apple dessert and it tasted pretty darned good. The pastor needed to add more sugar as he didn't find it to be sweet enough for his tastebuds. That's ok. I found it to be wonderful. I should have eaten more of it myself, but I didn't make much. I used about nine granny smith apples. They cost a total of five bucks, so I wasn't going to use much more than that. Itsmelled up my house wonderfully as it cooked all evening long. I was in heaven!

It is rainy and foggy outside. I didn't know it was supposed to rain, until I woke around nine thirty this evening to what sounded like rain hitting my roof. It is so misty and foggy outside that the water vapors are collecting on the limbs of the trees above me and falling down. It is an interesting sight when a fog settles on a place. There is a mystical nature to the air as cars pass and it is very quiet as well. Nice time for coffee, for sure! Have a good day all!

  1. crock pot..hmmmmm.....Throw in three or four chicken peices bones and all(hell even if frozen still) white or dark or both, add about a pound of fresh tomatillos, a bunch of celery, a few tomatoes, and a bag of baby carrots, onion, and some salt, and garlic, adda cup or two of water, put on the lid and go to sleep with the crock pot on high...lol.....about 6 hours later, when the chicken is falling off the bone, add about a cup or so (more or less) of precooked rice...cook a bit longer an hour or so, adjust the water content and salt ontent to your liking...enjoy...lol...riff...oh by the way if you have a lot of skin or untrimmed fat on the chicken, don't forget to skim the excess oil off the top after cooking, I let it cool down in the fridge sometimes and get it off that way....up to you....enjoy....lol...riff
